Getting Back To The Sewing Table!

What an incredible year this has been!  I have been away from my sewing table for almost a year now, and I can't believe how quickly time has flown by!

My family and I went on an incredible 6 week Cross Canada adventure, returning home to Alberta through the northern U.S.  We saw so many incredible sights, and had fantastic weather!  Out of 42 days of travelling, only 2 brought us rain.  We are very fortunate to have experienced the trip of a lifetime!

So now that the travel bug has finally left me, I figured it was time to get creative once again.  I have some really gorgeous fabric that has been sitting in my stash for way too long, and it's been calling my name!  In the last couple days I have made 2 beautiful tote bags for Christmas...they would be an incredible way to say "Merry Christmas" to your friends, coworkers, and loved ones alike!

What a terrific summer break!!!

With school in full swing now, I've had a chance to reflect on the past few weeks of summer holidays and although it has flown by way too quickly, my family and I have made so many wonderful memories!  We were away from home more often than not, camping in our new RV (something we've never been able to do before) and everywhere we went, the weather was gorgeous and the scenery was even better.

We even had deer making themselves at home less than 5 feet from our RV..

...and our sweet dog Finnegan enjoyed taking it all in from his comfy spot on the dash...

So now with summer holidays over, it is back to the sewing table for me.  I have some great new fabrics in, and am in the process of making some stunning new bags just perfect for fall!  Keep checking my shop, www.mosewsit.etsy.com for new listings!

An Exciting Month!!!

Hello everyone!  My apologies for not updating my blog in quite a while.  It's funny how life gets busy happening when you're not looking!
The last few weeks have been pleasantly hectic.  My shop www.mosewsit.etsy.com has been bringing in a few sales for me, and I am attending some local markets as well. 
I was recently asked by Lisa Gal from Hollywood Baskets (check out her website...  www.hollywoodbaskets.com )if I would like one design of my Eco-Friendly Market tote bags to be featured at the MTV Movie Awards celebrity gift lounge.  Hmmm...that was a hard decision...NOT!  I was so honored to be asked, and was very happy to make 25 market tote bags for Lisa.

 It was a bit difficult to locate suppliers for this particular fabric as the designer, Michael Miller, has decided to have it discontinued despite it's popularity.  But after some lengthy searching, I found 2 suppliers who had the quantity I needed.  However, although one fabric was at my door the next day, the other fabric took over a week to arrive, and my business labels took almost 10 business days...YIKES!!   So that didn't leave a whole lot of time, but I was so excited to make them for Lisa, I think I was operating on pure adrenalin!  Thanks to Lisa being extremely flexible, I was able to ship them out to her with little time to spare. 

Yesterday was the big day, with celebrities being gracious enough to pose for photos with my bag!  I want to thank Lisa for giving me this incredible opportunity,  I will never forget it!!!

Will Spring Be Here Soon?

Hi everyone...I see it's been a "few" days since my last post, my apologies!!

There is still a ton of snow on the ground where I live, and it snowed last night and this morning.  But I'm not complaining...I'll take snow over extreme weather/natural disasters any day!

I have been trying to create some new items and increase my stock for an upcoming tradeshow that I've been invited to attend.  The "Swing Into Spring" trade show and shopping extravaganza is only a month away so I'd better get busy!  There are lots of great vendors so there will be something for everyone!
